Grounds & Facilities
St. Bede’s School in Balwyn North is situated on an expansive, well-designed site that balances modern learning environments with significant outdoor space, a rare find in an inner-suburban setting. Our facilities are designed to inspire curiosity and cater to the diverse interests of our students.
Learning Spaces are well designed to complement our Learning and Teaching approach and are equipped with integrated technology to support collaborative and independent learning. Visual Arts, Performing Arts and STEM have dedicated learning spaces for allowing students to explore their creative and analytical talents. A well resourced library is used weekly by classes and is designed to foster a lifelong love of reading in a cozy, modern environment.
The school hall is used for fortnightly assemblies, daily before and after school care and Physical Education when there is inclement weather, and community functions.
St Bede’s has a multi-purposed space, The Jarrow Room, that is used for incursions, professional learning sessions, school functions, parent information evenings and lunchtime clubs.
There are expansive outdoor spaces that encourage active play and small group socialising. Two synthetic turf areas provide ample space for AFl, soccer, downball, volleyball and athletics. An age appropriate adventure playground is situated under shade sails and designed to challenge motor skills and encourage social play during break times. The students can enjoy more passive play in a large shaded amphitheatre or a quiet garden area.
